SILENCE = DEATH
| o.alvarez films is casting SILENCE = DEATH. Oscar Alvarez is directing a script he wrote as a follow-up to the 2008 Slamdance Film Festival smash hit BROKEN ENGLISH. The project will be shot in the Super 16mm format on location in West Los Angeles, Venice, Silverlake, and Malibu. Principal photography is slated to commence the last week in September for approximately 5 days.
Seeking: Raul Lopez is the family patriarch. He has curly hair, mustache and beard, and can still kick his son’s ass. He was born in Mexico and has two children born in the U.S. who have defied conventions. His children are the first in his family to ever graduate from high school and college. However his faith in his son is shaken by his son’s apparent lack of a love interest. Raul believes in tradition, machismo, and worries about what his family and friends think of him and his family. JACQUELINE LOPEZ: 15-18, dark skinned, avergae build, long straight hair, SUPPORTING, speaks Spanish. Jacqueline is 16 years old. She has an older brother whome she loves and admires. She has always stood up for him and has always been the “fighter” as a counterbalance to her passive brother. She is darker skinned than her brother and resembles her dad psychologically. She is her dad’s favorite and often acts as an intermediary between her dad and the rest of the family during arguments. She is in high school band and is naturally gregarious. Auditions: TBD |
