Jody Oliver’s Dance City II, Comedy City, and Rock N’ Roll Blues & Pop City is casting several upcoming projects for stage, film, television, and other special events and fundraisers. Jody Oliver, performer-writer-prod.-dir. Production begins immediately in NYC. Seeking-Actors: male and female, 16+, all types, all shapes and sizes, ages, with special skills, multi-taskers, versatile wardrobes with all ranges/styles, from neighborhood to upscale; Comedians: all ages, sketch, improv, and stand-up; Exceptional Male and Female Musicians: classical background a plus, all styles of music including rock, pop, hip-hop, salsa, blues, jazz, disco, classical Broadway, etc., who can play, read, and write music; Exceptional Male and Female Vocalists: 21+, must be able to sing all styles (see styles listed above for musicians); Male and Female Dancers Who Sing: all styles, including ballet, breakdance, hip-hop, gymnastics, jazz, ballroom, etc., must be able to sing Broadway, pop, and/or rock, with good technique, females think Kelly Clarkson, Gloria Estefan, Whitney Houston, and Irene Cara, males think Stevie Wonder, Elton John, Bon Jovi, and Robert Goulet; Martial Artists: male and female, 21+; Cab Drivers: who own or have access to their own cabs. Note: Seeking performers of all ages, all types, all skills and talents; singing, dancing, and ability to play a musical instrument a plus. Also seeking staff-Additional Crew: cameras, lights, sound, etc. Auditions will be held Aug. 16, 2-7 p.m. at Pearl Studios, 500 Eighth Ave. (btwn. 35th & 36th sts.), 4th fl., NYC. Auditions are on a first-come, first-served basis and will be taped. Bring pix & resumes, stapled together. Actors, prepare a two-minute contemporary monologue. Comedians, prepare three minutes of your best stand-up material and be prepared to show any other special skills. Vocalists, prepare 16 bars of your best uptempo contemporary song. Dancers must prepare a three- to five-minute dance routine; female dancers should be prepared for pointe work. Martial artists, prepare a three- to five-minute routine that shows your style. Musicians, bring DVDs/press kits, etc.; you will be called back for a studio audition. All performers should bring any non-returnable pix, resumes, DVDs, CDS, and press kits if available.
