The Circus McGurkus, is
an exciting new big top touring show based on Dr. Seuss’
“If I Ran the Circus”.
We are looking for team players who welcome artistic
exploration and growth.
MORRIS MCGURK
Young male actor/singer
The star of our show is a prepubescent PT Barnum (reads 11-12). with a little bit of Dennis the Menace and Beaver Cleaver thrown in. He’s still young enough to have an outageous imagination, but old enough to have a job cleaning up the junkyard and dreams of a circus empire. Circus skills., magic a plus. (all ethnicities.)
MR. SNEELOCK
Mature male singer/actor (40+)
Sneelock is the junk yard owner who partakes in Morris’ fantasy circus. Should
be agile. Gymnastics or acrobatic background a plus. (all ethnicities).
MORRIS’ GRANDMOTHER
Mature female singer/actor.
An expressive, expansive woman that takes pride and delight in her homemade
meatballs and spaghetti sauce (all ethnicities.)
FLORA
Female singer/actor. (reads teen)
Hannah Montana-esque girl that Morris has a crush on. She knocks Morris off his
feet! Dance, gymnastics, or specialty act background helpful. (all
ethnicities)
SPECIALTY ACTS
Specialty and circus acts and sideshow artists. Especially looking for
outstanding, eccentric, unusual acts not commonly seen in the cirque shows.
