Roundabout Theatre Company is casting Streamers. David Rabe, author; Scott Ellis, dir. Rehearsals begin Sept. 27; runs Oct. 17, 2008-Jan. 25, 2009 at the Laura Pels Theatre in NYC. Seeking-MP Lieutenant: male, 40s, Caucasian, actor in this role understudies Sgt. Rooney, authoritative guy, gravitates toward mischief and alcohol as a way to test the boundaries given to him by the army, gets away with it because of his veteran status; PFC Hinson: male, 40s, Caucasian, actor in this role understudies Sgt. Cokes, Rooney’s friend and sidekick, veteran, somewhat jaded, has been marred by the repeated trauma of warfare; PFC Clark: male, 20s, African-American, actor in the role understudies MP Lieutenant, as well as Carlyle, seasoned and disgruntled, moody and volatile, and Roger, tall, well-built, level-headed, the paternal figure in the bunk, unlike his peers he actually belongs in the army; PFC: male, 20s, Caucasian, actor in this role understudies Martin, very emotional to the point of being suicidal, just wants to get out of the army, and Richie, innocent, boyish, sweet, seeks attention and acceptance; Offstage Cover: male, 30s, understudy for Hinson, Clark, and PFC, military police officers, strong and forceful. Note: The roles of Martin, Carlyle, Richie, Billy, Sgt. Rooney, and Sgt. Cokes have been cast. Equity principal auditions will be held Aug. 13, 10 a.m.-1:30 p.m. & 2:30-6 p.m. at Ripley-Grier Studios, 520 Eighth Ave. (btwn. 36th & 37th sts.), 16th fl., NYC. Sides will be provided at the audition. Bring pix & resumes, stapled together. Current salary $750 min./wk. Equity LORT B Contract. |
