| NV, ‘PHANTOM OF THE OPERA,’ DANCERS
Clear Channel, The Really Useful Company, and the Venetian Hotel & Casino are casting a 90-minute production of Phantom of the Opera. Jack Gaughan, musical dir.; Courtney Combs, dance capt.; Dale Brown (Tara Rubin Casting), casting dir. Performances are ongoing at the Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas (six-day week, 10 perfs.). Seeking-Females: 18-25, under 5′6″, must have a degree of innocence and look very young, seeking experienced, classically trained dancers, most of the audition will be on pointe; Males: 6′0″+, well-built, muscular, classical/ballet dancers, should have solid classical technique with a musical theatre flair; Meg: should appear 16-18, member of the Corps de Ballet, mezzo-soprano to G. Note: Seeking strong classical dancers, not looking for tap dancers, jazz dancers, or hoofers, no solo singing for the dancers except Meg. Equity chorus dancer auditions will be held Aug. 14, 11 a.m. for females (sign-up 10:30 a.m.) and 2 p.m. for males (sign-up 1:30 p.m.) at Backstage Dance Studio II, 3425 Backstage Blvd., Las Vegas. Chorus rules are in effect. A monitor will be provided. Be dressed, warmed up, and ready to sing. Females bring pointe shoes, males bring ballet shoes. If asked to sing, chose music from the musical theatre repertoire that shows off voice and range. Bring sheet music in your key and pix & resumes stapled together. Equity chorus singer auditions will be held Aug. 15. Equity Casino Contract ($1,462/wk. min.). |
