| Torrance Theatre Company is casting Baby, a musical comedy about the trials, tribulations, joys and fears of parenthood as seen through the eyes of three couples in different stages of life and their own relationships. Production runs Oct. 3-12 at the George Nakano Theatre, 3330 Civic Center Dr.
Auditions: Wednesday, August 6 from 7-10 pm Prepare 32 bars of contemporary musical theatre. Sides will be distributed at auditions. LIZZIE (18-early 20s): mezzo, Danny’s girlfriend; college student faced with an unexpected pregnancy. NICK (early 30s): baritone, Danny’s coach; always looks on the bright side, even when there is none. PAM (early 30s): mezzo, Nick’s wife; an ex-tomboy who wants a baby more than anything. ALAN (40s): baritone, College Dean, reserved and restrained, unsure about becoming a father again. ARLENE (40s): soprano, Alan’s wife, has three grown children and discovers she is pregnant again |
