REINE
| Gra’maw’s Kitchen Productions is casting the world premiere of the full-length play, “REINE”, from an adaptation of two lyric poems: “The Love and the Hate” and “The Inhumanist” by the American poet Robinson Jeffers. Written/Directed by Ronald P. Recasner, REINE will run For three weekends in late October and early November to attract investors and/or established theaters to finance and/or mount a full scale production of the play. The play takes place in Carmel Ca, the year is 1942, the world is at war and the ghost of Hoult, a young American soldier killed while fighting the Japanese on an island in the Pacific, returns home to exact revenge on society. CAST OF CHARACTERS: REINE GORE: Caucasian, Hoult’s mother she is 40 to 50 years old. A feminine, delicate and beautiful woman; lonely and afraid, waiting for the safe return of her son from the war. HOULT GORE: Caucasian, 18 years old. THIS ROLE HAS BEEN CAST. BULL GORE: Caucasian, 55 to 60 years old. He is a conservative rancher who plays by the rules. A very patriotic World War One combat veteran, he is unable to show affection. DAVID LARSON: Caucasian, 18 years old. A self-centered person and a boyhood friend of Hoult’s, he has an Agricultural exemption from military service. MORO SOTO: Native American 65 to 75. Shamanistic, with a down to earth spiritual quality. He retains memory of everything that he has experienced in this lifetime. CHORUS MEMBERS: (total of 12) African American, Hispanic, Native American, Middle Eastern, Far Eastern, African, i.e.: ALL RACES>18 to 25 years old. Dance and Mime along with a good singing voice a must. Also in need of Choreographer and singing/voice coach. No pay, but small stipend for gas.
